Welcome to “Cleaning and Maintaining Plucked String Instruments.” In this course, Robert invites Ibero-American luthier, Alfredo Lerma, a Master of Historical Lutherie, to teach you the methods and techniques used since antiquity for performing fundamental adjustments and maintenance on instruments belonging to the guitar family (ukuleles, requintos, tiples, jaranas), lutes (bandurrias, charangos, mandolins, harps, lyres, and vihuelas), and other plucked string instruments from the Middle East, using everyday household items.

With nearly 3 hours of high-definition video and audio, divided into 5 chapters, you’ll be amazed as Alfredo teaches you simple methods to quickly and enjoyably apply his instructions to fine tune your instruments, including cleaning and adjusting the tuning pegs, leveling and refining the frets, adjusting string heights and nuts, performing a complete internal and external deep cleaning, and final polishing.
